After playing as a solo artist for many years, Jessica Lerner is excited to introduce her band on this upcoming album.
Each member brings a different sound to the stage, learn more about Jessica’s band below.
Santana is one of San Diego’s busiest musicians, playing in multiple bands: the lead singer for Rock of Ages (an 80’s tribute band) and Rogue Pilots (an original band that Lerner contributes lyrics to). From Tijuana, Mexico, Santana brings an array of music styles (latin, 80’s, and 90’s rock) to the band’s sound. He was the first member recruited and a long time friend or Lerner’s.
From Ensenada, Mexico, Martinez started playing music as a teenager. A mutual friend connected Lerner and Martinez thinking they would be a great fit for her band. They met, they played, they laughed, and the friendship began. Martinez can also be found playing for Soundwave (a cover band) and Chris Avetta. His biggest influences include Muse and Victor Wooten.
Wilcox first began playing music in 4th grade when he picked up an alto saxophone. In his late teens, he was drawn to the guitar and by college found himself playing in the Clemson University’s Jazz Big Band and various jazz combos. Originally from Gaithersburg, MD, he moved to San Diego in 2013. Wilcox responded to an ad Jessica posted in a “Jazz Musicians of San Diego” facebook group. Impressed by his easy-to-work-with attitude and vast theory knowledge, he was a solid choice to round out the band. His music influences include: Louis Armstrong, Allen Stone, Led Zepplin, Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and George Benson.
